Non Surgical Brow Lifts Using PDO Threads

A Thread Lift is a procedure that uses a dissolvable suture to tighten and lift your skin. It is a minimally invasive procedure and can often be performed in under 45 minutes without needing to go under a scalpel.
This treatment is performed using just a needle and a cannula. This means no cuts or incisions are made making the down time only a few days and extremely minimal.
Dr Isabella Sillar uses PDO Bio-Threads, made in South Korea. They consist of a dissolvable suture made from Polydioxanone (PDO). Polydioxanone is a crystalline, biodegradable, synthetic polymer, is used in cardiac and orthopaedic surgery. The innovative method of using PDO for Thread-Lifting was later developed, due to a number of reasons.
PDO is associated with minimal complications and can be moulded into various designs, in order to treat different areas of the face.
This material is non-allergic and is completely biodegradable, meaning the body completely absorbs the PDO material over time (6-8 months).
They’re best suited for rejuvenating your skin while lifting any sagging or loose skin.
HOW CAN IT BE USED TO LIFT THE BROW?
A Brow lift can be performed using PDO threads. It is another non-surgical, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to provide a more youthful facial appearance without leaving scars and with minimal downtime. PDO threads are used to lift and correct asymmetry of the eyebrows. They help to remove wrinkles, brow lines, and correct saggy or drooping eyebrow.
PDO threads also stimulate the production of collagen. This means once the threads dissolve collagen is formed around the area to help the skin stay lifted and give a long lasting result. This procedure consists in inserting the threads into the skin to lift it, providing an immediate rejuvenating effect.
The highly sought out Fox Eye is treated with PDO Threads. The threads are inserted towards the end of the eyebrow to elongate the eye. A fox eye can also correct hooded eyelids when necessary. Thread placement depends on the client’s anatomy and the shape of their eye and eyebrow, no two fox eyes are the same.
Before the treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied 1 hour prior to the appointment. A local aesthetic is also applied to make sure you are comfortable and completely numb throughout the procedure.
AFTERCARE AND RESULTS
During your initial consultation, Dr Isabella Sillar will discuss realistic and achievable outcomes for your non-surgical fox eye or brow lift. This will include aftercare and what to expect from the treatment.
Compared to surgical brow lifts, PDO Threads are the safest and most efficient way to treat down turned eyes, asymmetrical eyebrows and heavy hooded eyes. The treatment is able to achieve long lasting results as well as being minimally invasive with a quick recovery time.
There is no down time to this procedure, in fact patients can return to their daily activities right after their visit. Avoid applying make-up, touching your face and exercising for at least 48 hours after the treatment. If you had a brow lift using PDO threads, it is also recommended that you sleep on your back with your head facing up and elevated upwards for the first few weeks.
It is common to experience minor bruising, swelling, and soreness after a brow lift, which will normally resolve in a few days.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FOX EYE AND BROW LIFT?
The difference is about the part of the eye that we are treating.
Fox eye:
– Elongating the eyebrow and lifting the outside corner of the eye
– Great for down turned eyes or people wanting to completely change the shape of their eye.
– Natural subtle lifting to drastic ‘bella hadid’ effect
Brow lift:
– Treating the whole eye brow, from inner, middle and outer part of the eye
– Great for people with heavy eyelids, age related skin laxity or asymmetry between the eyes
– Lift can range from natural and subtle for rejuvenation and ageing prevention to drastic lift
For the best and longest lasting results, the eye lifting treatments should always be combined with regular neurotoxin. Without maintaining neurotoxin, results are likely to reverse within the first 3 months. At Elucell our focus is on longevity and a natural result.
SHOULD I HAVE SURGERY
Surgery should only ever be considered as a last line option. The down time ( 3-6 months before final result), cost ($>15,000), procedure risks (permanent nerve damage, prolonged swelling and bruising, asymmetry, infection risk) should only be endured in severe cases. Indications for surgery are in patients who have an advanced degree of skin laxity, previous surgery to the area or anyone with implants.
The easiest way to find out if a PDO Brow Lifting treatment is suitable for you is a complimentary consult. Our clinicians want amazing outcomes, we will be happy to provide an honest assessment to see if a Non-Surgical option would achieve your desired outcome.
Non surgical Brow and Fox Eye Lifts using PDO Threads are perfect for a person with mild to moderate desired changes or mild asymmetries. When done with an attention to detail and neurotoxin maintained, results last over 12 months. The PDO Threads will directly counteract the ageing process by replacing collagen and elastin in the top layers of skin and providing immediate lift. Ongoing maintenance aims at building on the new framework we achieve after your first session, ideally a complete treatment wont need to be done again.
CAN WE ACHIEVE A BROW LIFT USING MONO THREADS?
Language here is key, brow lifts (fox eye, hooded eye lifts) use threads that lift the ligamentous structures of the eyes and the brow. Mono threads are about treating the ageing changes in the skin: Loss of elastin and collagen. By replacing the elastin and collagen this causes a localised tightening effect, in turn this can provide a subtle brow lift, similar to anti-wrinkle and down time of <24 hours. Mono threads do not lift or change structures.
For age related changes, a brow lift can be avoided by using monos to prevent the accumulation of saggy loose skin and keep the eye region healthy and rejuvenated. Mono thread brow tightening is similar to neurotoxin in discomfort however repeat treatments once the desired effect is achieved is 8-12 monthly, it may take 2-4 sessions to achieve the desired outcome especially in older patients.
WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR A BROW LIFT?
For the initial treatment the cost for a Non Surgical Brow Lift using PDO Threads is $2,400. These results last 12-18 months and maintenance is recommended to continue the results. For maintenance treatments you pay per thread. The cost per thread is $400.
