    Pro Dermal Peels
Exfoliation of the outermost skin layer from a chemical peel can help to create a more youthful skin texture or tone, and improve the appearance of signs of aging, blotchiness, brown spots, age spots, sun damage and scars.

About Pro Dermal Peels

A cosmedical peel is a minimally invasive treatment which can help with a plethora of skin concerns including uneven skin texture, hyperpigmentation, congested pores and fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment involves an acid solution being applied to the face which removes layers of the skin, unmasking the brand-new skin underneath and stimulating the formation of new skin cells. The acid solution breaks the ‘glue’ holding the cells together.

At Elucell, we use the most potent and the purest combination of proven medical grade ingredients. We use the highest possible percentages allowed before a doctor’s prescription. All ingredients work synergistically together for optimal results and can be combined with alternative treatment modalities. No parabens, petrochemicals or synthetic fragrances are used.

There are several types of chemical peels each suited to different skin problems and types.

Pumpkin Enzyme and Fruit Acid Peel

For blemishes, acne and congested skin. Refines pores and brightens.

Pumpkin Enzyme and Fruit Acid Peel is a perfect formulation of 30% Pumpkin Enzymes, Pumpkin Extract and natural fruit acids married together with the healing and moisturising benefits of Jojoba Esters, making this an ideal peel for all skins. This peel effectively eliminates redundant cells, therefore accelerating the skin’s cellular renewal to reveal fresher, smoother skin whilst restoring natural barrier function and increasing hydration. An ideal entry level peel. Possible mild peeling, a feeling of tight, dry skin and mild redness which may last up to 7 days.

Main Ingredients: Pumpkin Enzymes and Pumpkin Extract, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Multifruit BSC, Jojoba Esters, L-Lactic Acid.

Bio White Peptide Peel

For Acticnic Keratosis, age spots, photo-aged skin, Melasma and pigmentation.

Bio White Peptide Peel is a unique Biomimetic peptide encapsulated in a liposome vehicle allowing optimal whitening and lightening effect on the skin; it’s enhanced with concentrated levels of Vitamin C to stimulate cell turnover, protect collagen and by supporting existing collagen structures. It is anti-aging with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. You should expect heat (and possibly a biting sensation). This often settles after 3 minutes. Mild peeling may occur 2-4 days later.

Main Ingredients: Niacinamide, Gingerol, Resveratrol, Bisoprolol, Multifruit BSC.

The Treatment

What is a professional chemical peel like?

When it comes to a professional chemical peel, you have three options: superficial, medium or deep. Each one goes a little bit deeper, surpassing the epidermis and dermis, removing layers of skin. The result is more effective as the intensity increases, but the downtime also increases.

Before the treatment begins, your practitioner will prep your skin by cleansing it of its natural oils and any dirt or debris that might get in the way of the peel. Sensitive areas such as the eyes, the corners of the mouth and the nose contours will be protected by using petroleum jelly with cotton tipped applicators. During the peel, your practitioner will use a brush to ‘paint’ the chemical solution onto the face. The acid is left on the skin for roughly 5 – 10 minutes, depending on the treatment. At the end, a gel will be applied to help replenish moisture after the chemical peel treatment.

What are the benefits of going to a clinic for a chemical peel?

Medically qualified practitioners are trained to choose the right acid – and the right strength of acid – for your skin type and skin concerns. At Elucell, we will diagnose your skin condition, analyse the malfunctioning cellular processes occurring and correct this with a progressive therapeutic cosmedical treatment. We know exactly how long the acid should be left on for and what to do if something doesn’t go to plan. In addition, your practitioner will develop an at-home care regime and in-clinic treatment plan to restore the skin biology back to its normal function. However, the biggest in-clinic chemical peel benefits are the effectiveness. The ingredients we use are stronger and the results are more impressive.

Are there any treatment contraindications?

Unfortunately, we cannot treat you if you have any of the following:

  • Active cold sores in the area
  • Open lesions
  • Infection
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Lupus and autoimmune diseases
  • Blood infections
  • Skin cancer in the treatment area

Please discontinue use of RetinA two weeks prior to reduce excessive peeling. You are not suitable for treatment if you have used Roaccutane in the last 12 months. Sunbaking and sun beds are to be avoided for the entire duration of the treatment regime.

What is the downtime?

Your recovery time and depth of peeling will depend on your skin condition and the chosen peel. Your skin may become hot, red and peel significantly. Your practitioner will discuss with you that you may experience and the aftercare.

  • Avoid direct sun for 5 – 10 days. Mineral Pro SPF 30+ is mandatory and must be reapplied every 2 hours.
  • Avoid waxing/hair removal for 14 days.
  • Avoid peels, IPLs, laser and Cosmeceutical facial treatments for 14 days that are not prescribed from this clinic.
  • Avoid exercise, heated yoga, saunas, spas and avoid getting overheated for 24 hours post treatment.
  • Do not pick, scratch or peel the skin.
  • No exfoliating products, AHA’s, Vitamin A products, RetinA, scrubs, or enzymes post treatment for 5 days.
  • Do not use harsh or scratching washcloths for three days after the peel.

Is one peel enough?

The best results will be obtained through a series of six to eight fortnightly to monthly peels rather than a one-off treatment. Many patients will start with a low-level peel and gradually increase the peel strength over the series if tolerated. Your practitioner will advise you on a suitable level for your skin type.

On the other hand, too many peels of overly aggressive treatments can irreversibly thin the skin and may even permanently remove our natural protective pigment. Peels are designed to address a skin concern. Once the concern is controlled or desired results are achieved, then the treatment should cease. Maintenance treatment can be performed as needed.

Why didn’t I have any visible peeling after my treatment?

Different acids can penetrate to different depths during the treatment. Over the following 2-7 days, the cells separate, showing visible signs of flaking or peeling. The success of the peel should not be judged by the amount of peeling. Some clients may only feel slight irritation of the skin and others can have an increase in breakout which indicates positive progress. The skin is often flushed and feels tight and dry for several days. Pigment and discoloration may darken before peeling away. If the skin is particularly dehydrated at the time of the peel, you may experience more peeling. Deeper peels cause more extensive peeling. Whether you peel or not, the chemical peel is still going its job – stimulating separation of the surface layer encouraging your skin to multiply faster.

Treatments to Compliment

  • Plasma Skin Resurfacing

    Plasma Skin Resurfacing

Facial needling stimulates the body’s natural healing capabilities providing rejuvenation of the skin without compromising skin thickness like treatments such as microdermabrasion can, and is a highly effective alternative to laser treatments. Used in conjunction with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), facial needling encourages cell rejuvenation at a fundamental level, reducing signs of ageing, tightening skin, helping to correct acne scarring and pigmentation, and reversing sun damage.

  • Dermal Fillers

    Dermal Fillers

As skin ages, it gradually loses collagen, elastin and fat. Strategically placed dermal fillers take the place of lost fat pads and collagen. Some even promote the production of collagen. This helps to enhance areas, such as the lips or cheeks, by adding volume in a controlled way.
